Review of standards for MoJ language service contracts
10th October 2022
Lord Wolfson announced the commissioning of an independent review of the existing qualifications and standards for assignments covered by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) language service contracts. You can read PI4J’s correspondence with Lord Wolfson below.
The Independent Technical Review is being led by Ann Carlisle. The MoJ confirmed there will also be a Policy Review and we have been informed there is to be a separate review of the value of outsourcing. We have had dialogue with the MoJ regarding the need for independent regulation of public service interpreting and stressed the need for a focus on remuneration, terms and conditions as part of the Independent Technical Review.
